The Battle is Over

Greenbush, Wisconsin

I guess you can tell which side won this battle "somewhere in Missouri, 1861", can't you?

This is a remarkably fine image Cindy.
You have captured the pose where his body language is saying:
"A job well done !"

Thanks Pat and Jim. The Union/North generally wore Navy and the Confederates wore grey. Unfortunately, early in the war, some Union troops wore grey, also. This led to Union soldiers killing their own.

I totally agree with Bob's comments. Your photos of this event are amazing, the scenes look so very real!

Great body language for this capture... I don't remember for sure who wore what uniform.. I thought the navy was the north... My Dad took me to the plains of Gettysburg twice for several days.. as a kid I was not as interested as I should have been.

Thanks, Bob. I don't either, but the front gentleman is the Confederate head honcho and the man below/rear is in charge of the Union troops. This was the surrender.

I don't know much about Civil War uniforms and accessories, but these guys sure look authentic. And your photos are superb.
