The nest is concealed from view behind the bottom of the hanging ribbon. This was not sufficient concealment from our local cowbirds, who succeeded in parasitizing the nest. My pictures of the incubating/brooding junco female and the cowbird nestling were taken looking in toward the nest at an angle, without moving the ribbon.
