Apologies for the terrible quality of this image, but I was told that a flight shot of the species was unusual, so even a blurry one might interest some. Scarborough Marsh is the famous spot for seeing both of the "sharp-tailed" sparrows, Nelson's and Saltmarsh. This one flew from its perch on a grass stalk as I approached the marsh in the Pelreco parkng lot, and I grabbed this hasty handheld shot. A birder experienced with the two species confirms that it looks like a Saltmarsh, with its relatively long bill and relatively heavy and dark streaking on breast and flanks.
