Monbazillac

One year in the Monbazillac region. A well known chateau commissioned me to photograph
a single cycle in the production of the wines of the Monbazillac region. It is funny to
know that the red and the dry white wines fall under the AOC Bergerac. The Moelleux falls
under the name Cotes de Bergerac whereas the sweet dessert wines are known as AOC Monbazillac.
The grapes that produce this famous desert wine are harvested from the same vines as the
AOC Bergerac Sec (dry) and the Cotes de Bergerac (Moelleux). Three different wines, with three different "Appellations"...
from a single plant. That is magic... the magic of Monbazillac.
