Omega Centaurus or NGC 5139 is a brilliant Globular Cluster in the southern constellation of Centaurus, the brightest of the Globulars. Omega Centaurus is some 55 arc minutes wide and shines at a magnitude of 3.90 and is around 16000 Light Years away. This cluster is obvious to the naked eye from a dark sky site.
