NGC 6514, M 20 or the Trifid Nebula in Ha

Cootamundra, NSW.

This bright nebula is in the constellation of Sagittarius and shows as an irregular mass of bright nebulosity some 25' arc minutes wide, three dark lanes run across the face and meet near the centre. The whole area is superimposed with faint nebuosity.

Takahashi Sky-90 fitted with a reducer/flattener and operating at f/4.5. Taken in the light of Hydrogen Alpha (Ha) with an Astronomiks 12Nm Ha filter.
