NGC 104 or 47 Tucana

Cootamundra, NSW.

The beautiful globular cluster, NGC 104 or 47 Tuc in the constellation of Tucana in the far south. This globular is second only to the wonderful Omega Cent. It is densely crowded with innumerable stars and is some 25' arc minutes in diameter. This is one of the nearest globular clusters to earth. Also seen in this photo is the much smaller globular, NGC 0121, another fainter globular cluster, Kron 3, is also in the FOV.

Takahashi Sky-90 with Reducer/Flattener operating f/4.5, even with short 2 minute exposures, the core has over-exposed.
