Snow in July

Mt. Baker, WA

Artist Point is the very top of Mt. Baker here in Washington state,
and the road there only just opened in late June.
Every photographer and artist alike makes the trip up here
for an amazing, 360 degree view. Although the snow is melting at
a swift rate, there is still a good amount of it left by July.

A dramatic image of Baker in July - worth the drive to Artist Point!

A great look into the secluded bowl between the mountains. Lots of great textures and colors, but the snow being there really makes the shot.

So this is a glacier. Fascinating to see snow in the summer.I like the framing and brilliant light. "V"

In most circumstances, the foreground would make for a grand landscape, but here it is overwhelmed by the looming and omnipresent glacier. This is a powerful image.
