California Quail on Split Rail Fence

Coeur d' Alene, Idaho

The background colors are provided by the morning sun lighting our front lawn and cedar fence in the background, I just positioned myself so the rail of the fence would cover the intersecting point. This quail has one leg tucked up underneath him.
