Star clusters and stellar nurseries far out in the galaxy halo

An intriguing feature of M83 is the number of small distinct and isolated clumps of blue stars
and pockets of pink emission nebula that can be found far out in the galaxy halo, a long way
from the main galactic disc and somewhere we don't normally expect to find such features.
