Sighting on the SCP with binoculars at night, I placed an alignment stake at 60m from and thus directly true south of the stake
in the middle of the pier footing hole. I am happy that this will allow me to position and point my pier bolt pattern in the wet
concrete with a high level of accuracy, probably to within about one deg or less.
