Memories on a good catch
by Franky2005

Maybe I should mention that Baseball and Softball are pretty much underdeveloped. All I did was going to a park and trying (!) to hit a few balls. And this was 20 years ago. :-)

Argghh, Fox beat me to the pun... it really is a "great catch", fantastic b&w treatment that I think helps to give the glove and even the ball a lot of personality. Perfect theme image, Frank!

A classic baseball image - the processing gives it a timeless feel, archival quality. Very nice.

This is exceptional. The start lighting enhances the age. I agree with your B&W decision - to be portrayed in color would diminish its impact. This is the kind of shot that stirs passions for the days when I was adept with the glove and ball and had an arm that could hurl the ball from deep center field to home plate. Very well done.

Softball glove, sure. That would explain the size of the webbing. Great find. It has a lot of character.

Thank you folks! jp, it may well be the case that this is more a softball glove rather than a baseball glove. I am really not able to distingush :-) . There are some extra leather ribbons that I had to use to fix the thing, after I got it in a garage sale for maybe 2$ (if I remember right). Unfortunatly did not ask for it's story ...

Very nice capture of this worn ball and glove - I love the black/white conversion!

Really a nice shot Frank, great lighting and composition! I like your choice of b&w here too.

Nice glove, Frank. Well broken-in. Almost looks like a first baseman's glove with its big web. I've never seen stiching like that, especially on the thumb. Looks historical. Does it have a back story?
