Great shot - I love the colors! I thought it was a close-up of a glass sculpture, I never would have guessed it was a lobster.

Helen, you always get such sharp focus! I love this image!

That's a heck of an alien landscape! Quite a display this lobster puts on - almost a shame anyone eats it (I'm with you...no seafood enters my mouth!). Very nice macro.

Love the colors!!! Very nicely done.

Helen, I looked at your gallery of Okinawa. Took me back (although it's changed as has everything)... I was there in the early 70's. My daughter was born there! Cool shots... thanks for the journey.

Yes, definitely alive and definitely edible. It's actually a lobster I found in the central fish market in Naha. They have a large number of creatures from the sea in Okinawa that I wouldn't be caught dead eating (as I don't eat any kind of seafood anyway), but I used to love haunting the market because I just found it so bizarre (and very photogenic, seehttp://www.pbase.com/helenpb/colors_of_okinawan_cuisine). It's alive. And it's been shopping. Wonderfully creepy, Helen. jrdu

Amazing mix of colors... Groovy & gooey in the same time..

When I travelled to Japan, I ended up eating a lot of strange looking things. I hope courtesy didn't require you to eat this. The colours and smooth textures are fascinating.

I have not one clue what this is except I think it is alive!!!! Absolutely stunning colors. Excellent exposure for a tricky looking subject!!
