Thanks for the comment, Helen. This is the same bird - Max. The feathers on the underside of his tail are lighter than those on top, but these are lighter and less green than the actual color. I was using a flash, although the exif says no flash.
I love the simplicity and starkness of this! Very effective compostion and excellent detail as well. Is this a different bird from the one you often photograph? The colors seem different.... Helen
