Thank you, Pearl. The photo was taken in the Masai Mara National Reserve. It is also the land of the Masai, who live there. The uncropped photo shows a baby elephant following its mother back from the bath.
Despite the name, National Reserves in Kenya are not enclosed areas. Animals are protected there, but there is no fence and the animals roam freely in and out of the reserve. Huge numbers of them migrate annually to and from the Serengeti Reserve, across the border in Tanzania. When travelling there, one must remind oneself that this is the real ting, this is no theme park, the animals weren't brought here, this is THE WILD!

Gideon, What an awesome photo. It fits the theme to a tee and really shows off the KM's owner.....YOu!! I taught 2 students, one from Somalia, the other from Sudan who both had made their way to Kenya. Where was this photo taken? In an enclosed area or in the wild?
