Beautiful rose - I love the deep red, and the painting effect!

Mike, I would say your experiment is a success. Is anyone surprised? This image needs to be viewed large scaled to see the textures rendered by the glass. It's almost like little brush strokes. Very nice.

Beautiful, Mike. I especially like the ol-fashioned feeling given to it by the warm lighting and the patterned distortion through the glass. Helen

A Masterpiece! Is it a symptom of genius the possibility to create from simple objects a wonderful piece of art?

Beautifully done, MFC. I like the way you've given the rose some texture without distorting it - and love the golden glow. Bev

Sonny, it's a piece of glass...5-inch round, 1/2-inch thick, with the surface cut in a textured pattern. It's part of a candle holder. Here's another shot with different lighting & the candle in it >> HERE . Thanks for the comments. MFC

Mike, I like the painting-like appearance of this photo. Nicely composed as usual and the overall image is just beautiful. What is a cut-glass disc - please enlighten me...thanks.
