Fantastic photo.

Let me add that this image effectively conveys sadness with it's drooping head and dark shadow. Well composed!

I have to echo mexiwolf and admire the simple elegance here. Good juxtaposition of the dried rose with the snow. Well done. MFC

-15 celcius? Than you not only deserve the comments but a METAL for bravery :-)
Where I live, I've become so used to 70-90 F that if I had to shoot in -15 celcius, you'd probably find me FROZEN, camera in hand he he. Markjay

This is lovely, Stephane. I like the elegant simplicity of it, as well as the light and pristine snow. Well captured! Helen

Thanks!
By the way, when I took the picture, it was minus 15 celcius...

Nice composition Stéphane!. Since we come from the same neck of the woods the snow is very familiar to me..Beautiful contrast ~ idea/execution~irish

Thanks for your comments.
Markjay, this is snow! In fact, the rose is on a mound at a height of 50-75cm and behind, it’s my neighbor back-yard. Here's the same subject but from a different angle (at full 5MP size):

Interesting and different. Interesting composition. Might you let us know what that IS in the background behind the flower? Thanks. Markjay

Probably the most impressive portrayal of a spent bloom I've seen in a while. This is a good study in shadows, composition rules (e.g. thirds and leading lines) and more importantly simplicity.
