Fence Lines
by Helen Betts

Ankara, Turkey

I had fallen in love with the fence last weekend when I was practicing with my D70, so I went back to try to capture it for the challenge. Taken outside the Ankara City Club (whose guard came up and told me not to photograph the building).

Wonderful craftsmanship, Helen, that we don't get to see much today. You've made it speak very well in these two images. - Mike

Nice feeling of depth here. If I had access to a fence like that I'd be taking photos as well ;). The repeating pattern of metal contrasting the green background works well. - Simon Bennett

well done, you've managed to capture this fence in such a way that it looks almost 3 dimensional

Helen, I can really understand why you fell in love with this fence-- it's a beautiful piece of work, isn't it? I like how you chose to shoot it at a diagonal angle like you did-- it helps to create the feeling that it goes on for awhile and makes me wonder what's down yonder. ;-) --Nancy
