I love the take on the topic. I wonder what dropping the shutterspeed and showing some movement and blurring would do for this shot. Good idea.

Cool macro. Actually I kinda like the envelope, it's so odd it looks like it's
resting on my SCREEN lol.

Ric: Nice concept. Interesting image. (*) The handle/blade would be more striking if the background was less textured and darker. It would have accentuated the lighting. I would have messed with less envelope and more blade and perhaps some judicious backlighting on the envelope so the blade showed through a bit. John

Ric, a really good idea here. I too like the placement of the hand and opener. The lighting and the interesting details on the opener especially catch my eye. (*)I agree about angling the envelope some and making it occupy just a little more of the frame. I'd have fun experimenting with backgrounds too...just for comparison. Nice shot...great idea. MFC

Ric.. I like the diagonal composition starting from the right corner which only partial reveals the fingers that hold this medieval -like letter opener. Good Challenge Concept and Great placement of the hand~ a whole movie was made on this theme!!! [The scarlet letter ] .... [*]wondering~ what it would look like if the letter was angled as well and filled up more of the frame...These are just some things to play with.. if you so choose to want to get confused~ .....Nice Going here~irish_eye
