Camouflage

Melbourne, Australia

And I guess it worked, too! It was on my letterbox all afternoon, which is right at a school bus stop.

This one was about 45 mm across the wings, Dave. Looper - Pingasa chlora - as far as I can determine from the wall full of books my other half has on flora and fauna ;-)

And Mike C - you wanna try finding one on tree bark! There's a lot of spectacle to be found in subtlety, all right. -- Mike

A great example of natural camouflage, Mike...beautiful, subtle tones & very good clarity too. Nice shot...I may not even have seen it :) MFC

Nice macro of this beautiful camouflaged critter Mike, I really like the patterns on the wings. Melanie (mlynn)
