Ann C, your husband got it right. It is a manifold in the shower room of of the Fordyce Bath House in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The Fordyce is the display bath house of the Hot Springs National Park.....Callisto

I'd generally go along with Ann and her husband, but I'd more likely put my money on a temperature-limited water supply to handbasins, in a more or less public washroom such as a school or child care centre.

could it be what's used in a dairy to purify/sterilize the milk after it's collected? We got cows, lots and lots of cows, in our area. ~Nee

Hmmm... yeah... something like that... I see inlets for hot and cold... a mixing chamber w/ a thermometer & distribution manifold... but where would you have such a thing? A gym? An army base? -- W R Somsky

My husband says a manifold for multiple showers with variable temperature control. I say it is an octopus faucet... one for each arm. ;) Ann C.
