8th place - Steps
inframan

Went back & re-shot this with the R1.
Forgot I had just used the camera in low-res jpg but I still prefer the way this one came out,
with a little added p-p oomph. ;)

Sony DSC-R1
1/1600s f/10.0 at 30.8mm iso160 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Well, Helen if you have a really good large monitor, then you can see the horizontal lines on the leftmost tank. :)

How funny -- I meant diagonal lines!

Thank you, Katherine and Helen.
Daniel, I really appreciate your comments. It makes it worthwhile running around bleak industrial areas trying to carry on the legacy of Margaret Bourke-White & worrying that security vehicles full of somber uniformed officers are about to pull up & requisition my R1. ;)

Hi JP: you said "This is the kind of shot I never get tired of taking". I my case I could say "this is the kind of shot I never get tired of looking".

Love the contrast and those horizontal lines!

Neat shot - I love the cloudy sky, and the stairs and shadows!

Thank you Frank. The surface of tank on the left seems to be made of a different kind of material than the rest. You can see the horizontal seams about a third of the way down from the top.

Not hard to tell that I love this. It's the details that make these kind of images so interesting. Why the hell is the surface of the first different to the others?

Thank you, Ernest & bottles.
This is the kind of shot I never get tired of taking.

Good Shot JP. Love the contrast of the clouds.
