John, not having seen the original, I think I understand your choice of b/w vey well. In color it would be a photo of a sculpture, but you give it a better meaning here IMHO. Good stuff!

In colour, the background is a lively green, an interesting contrast, and quite beautiful. I thought I'd just take a peek at black and white and when I did I went, "oooo!" I don't really know why I prefer it, but it's a clear preference.

Nice shot John; the textures, of the clothing, really stand out well. Black & white was probably a good choice here; I love color, but it does tend to hide some of the finer details at times.
