Miss America's presence is little short of miraculous: her new paint scheme isn't finished, and what's there is barely dry. Brent Hisey suffered a complete engine failure at Reno in 2002, called a Mayday and put the airplane down at an angle to the nearest runway. The airplane was totaled, but Brent walked away with only minor injuries and immediately set his team to work rebuilding. This year's Miss America is virtually a new airplane built from scratch. Only a few parts remain from the 2002 wreck.
