After we arrive at Chico the weather improves steadily for the rest of the afternoon. We soak in the hot pool and eat a fabulous dinner in the dining room. We're too tired even to consider stopping in for a drink at the cowboy bar; besides, the music is quite loud enough out in the parking lot. The stars are out, shining brightly, and we turn in early hoping tomorrow will finally serve up some of the strong mountain soaring conditions we've been looking for.
