In Memory of a gentleman

Scotty was a neighbour of mine when I was a kid, he and his wife very quickly became friends of the family, and many a day was spent talking and learning of his past: Scotty had served with the RAAF during world war two as a navigator on a Hudson bomber .. He had some hair raising stories, and very narrowly avoided being captured during the malaya campaign: his aircraft was under Japanese ground fire as he took off from one airfield.
