Order Neuroptera - Nerve-winged Insects

These delicate, large-eyed insects are named for their four intricately veined wings. Metamorphosis is complete. Larvae are active predators with hollow mandibles. They spin silken cocoons, and unlike most other insects, the pupae become quite mobile just prior to adult emergence.
