Adult chrysopids are green with brightly coloured eyes. They lay stalked eggs, and larvae are trash-carriers that attach as camouflage the sucked-out bodies of insect prey onto velcro-like hooks on their backs. Several species have commercial applications as biocontrol agents of aphids and other soft-bodied insect crop pests.
