Family Baetidae - Small Minnow Mayflies

Baetid mayflies possess broad forewings and strongly reduced to vestigial hindwings. The males bear massive turban-like compound eyes that meet above, and also a smaller pair underneath. Nymphs can be common in lentic (slow-moving water) environments.
