My newspaper did an article on this woman who had placed out a 1,046 small flags in her yard, each
representing an American solider killed in Iraq, I decided to take a different route home yesterday
to see for myself. The woman said she placed the flags out not as a protest of the war, but to honor
the dead soliders for their sacrifice and to show people what a thousand looks like.
