Horseshoe Bend at Sunset : Week 3

Horseshoe Bend, Grand Canyon

Horseshoe bend is one of the single best vistas for viewing the other side of the Grand Canyon. This location, about 5 miles South of Page, AZ., is situated at a goose neck in the Colorado River and is also among the closest points that the North and South Rim come to touching.

Note that there is nothing at Horseshoe Bend to keep you from walking right off the edge:-)

For those wondering, I am not trying to get something by you. I am having to reuse this one because I have been out of town (working a real job) for 3 weeks and it will be a week or two before I can get back to this:-(

Perfect!!! The lighting couldn't be better, especially with the reflection off the clouds right above the scene!

You remember very right. Karthik has done some really nice work and I like to stop buy and visit his work every few weeks to see what is nice.

Thanks for the compliment, BTW, I think that is one of the best I have ever received. I really liked:

If I remember right...I was at this same spot that evening when you took this shot...not sure if you remember but you gave us (a group of friends) some tips on creating panoramas with stitched photos.

You were with your friend and you let one of mine (Karthik Murugesan) to borrow your lens to take a shot. We were all so inspired by your enthusiasm that some of us have started persuing Photography as a serious hobby....

Steve, this was one of the photos that made me take up Photography seriously...so THANKS...BTW this is a great shot.

Thanks. I was a bit nervous taking that pic. You should see it printed BIG. With 40+ MP to work from, it really makes a great big print with stunning detail.
