Matching pair of factory original early Recaro Racing Bucket Seats as used by the 1973 Porsche 911 RSR. As you can obviously see, these Recaro buckets were NOT correctly re-upholstered as used by the 73' RSR but look very, very nice. The upholstery is in excellent condition with no rips, holes or tears anywhere in the material and the fiberglass buckets are in fantastic shape as well.
Since I already have these very same Recaro racing buckets, and I will have to re-upholster them to look exactly like the 1973 RSR, I decided to NOT take these Recaro seats apart and much rather sell them upholstered as they are. It will be a shame if I have to remove the upholstery material off of these Recaro buckets to just toss them away (I won't do that!)
By the way, these 'Recaro fiberglass buckets' are the very same 'fiberglass buckets' used in the '1973 Porsche 2.8 liter 911 RSR'. To see how these Recaro racing bucket seats ‘looked-like’ when they are correctly upholstered and installed in a 1973 RSR, please see here https://pbase.com/slidevalve911rsr/image/53401912 and also here for additional photos https://pbase.com/slidevalve911rsr/911rsr_factory_parts_body_interior_seats_rails_73_seat_factory
If interested, I can be contacted via email at ajserrano@msn.com - Thank you for looking.
The upholstery covering these buckets is obviously nothing RSR but the Recaro fiberglass buckets certainly are. I realize the upholstery is NOT correct and maybe I should do a better job at describing it. I also want to point out the buckets I have for sale, both are "co-pilot" Recaro RSR seat buckets (no driver) as used by Porsche in the 1973 RSR model. The co-pilot seat can be used as the driver seat since the seat-rails bolt up to both the same way using the same rails. Look here at the correct Recaro seat railshttp://www.pbase.com/slidevalve911rsr/911rsr_factory_parts_body_interior_seats_rails_73_rails_factory
Please follow the links I have included in the description above and you will see these buckets correctly covered as used in the RSR. By the way, those are period photos of a new RSR which I took from a Road & Track article in 1973. Look herehttp://www.pbase.com/slidevalve911rsr/image/53401912
One last comment, I don't have better photos of the Recaro buckets used by Porsche in the 1973 RSR but hope to sometime soon be able to get additional photos. Thank you for your post and comments!
PS: Do you have any RSR vintage photos? Love to see them! ; )
