Hey, I'm a Grandfather! Doesn't that make one feel old to say that! On April 20th at 11:05 PM my little grandson, Jacob Jesse Arroyo, 7 lb. 12 oz. and 21 inches long, was born in Rochester, MN. My wife and I left for Rochester on Friday, the 15th, just a few hours after I finished the 2004 taxes and mailed my last (hopefully) NY return at the local Post Office. As a young (not quite 60) retiree, I look forward to taking him on a visit in the not too distant future, whether I'm still living here in Verona, NJ, or as my wife would like, in Rochester,MN. We shall see. He is one beautiful baby. A month old tomorrow and already about 11 lbs and looking more like me ever day (LOL).

My family lived in apartment 5A, moving in when the projects were just completed, from Canarsie, Brooklyn, where we lived in the Quanset huts. We left in 1963, when we moved to the Bronx.

My mom, Frances Ann Arroyo, worked for Hearst Magazines, in the Accounts Payable department, on 57th and 8th in those days, retiring in 1991 after more than 35 years with the company. She now lives in Cranford, New Jersey.

My sister, Mary, now Mary Kostack, lives in Union, New Jersey, with her husband Peter, whom she met while working for Chase Manhattan in the 60's.

I live in Verona, NJ with my wife Joanne. We met in 1972 in Colorado, while at a National Wildlife Summit, and married in 1976. We have two sons. Jesse, born in 1977, graduated from R.P.I and is now a computer engineer with IBM in Rochester Mn. Jesse and his wife Kelly are expecting their first child in April, 2005. Adam, born in 1981, is working as a computer tech. for a local firm.

My brother Johnny, now retired from the Post Office, lives in Flushing. He joined the marines in the 60's, never made it to Vietnam, but spent some time guarding Guam.

My brother Steve died in 1994 from cancer. He was married to a girl he met in the Bronx, Eleanor Pesce. They have two children Steve and Ellie Ann.
