I dunno?

The Ipod.....i recently spoiled myslef and indulged in an Ipod nano, i have been looking at one of these since my minidisc player went a little fubar, so after a little thought i decided to grab one.
During one the the quiet spells in work we all got to talking and one of my colleagues refered to me as one of the new Ipod generation...ok since when did the ipod generation start, last i recall before slipping into my alcohol fueled 20's it was the MTV generation, hey did i miss something, ah well to re-use one of my favourite sayings...."What the fuck? fuck knows" let the generations be what they will, why must we label something to give it an identity, did the kids in the 60's and 70's have a label not as far as i was aware, maybe music was strong enough that it did not need and icon the give it meaning, hell so far the charts these days are full of re-releases and re cut fashion, maybe it is no wonder that we have to turn to things like the ipod to give a generation it's identity.....
Well all i know is that mine holds alot of real good music and i am going to get some miles in listening to it regardless of what generation....my generation now MF's!

I'm from the Walkman generation, but I'm sure one of these would make me feel much younger!

Did kids in the 60s and 70s have a label? Yeah--Baby boomers! (Well the 70s were too late for boomers, that was the beginning of Generation X of which you are a part. You're near the end of that generation. Oh, in America, that is. You Brits might not be running the same generations as us, but I think you are. Check out the book Generations by Strauss and Howe. Interesting ideas.
