Graphics Challenge #81! Get out your virtual crayons and paintbrushes, this week we're
going to be using them in our Coloring Book. The idea is to use the supplied starting images
(a black & white image of a fish, black & white image of a flower and a black & white image of two babies)
and color them. Try one or try them all, and we won't mind if you color outside of the lines.
I used Corel Painter X (CPX) and Photoshop Elements 4 (PSE4) to make this image.
The background for my fish image is the flower image.
I opened the flower in CPX, used Artist Oil brushes - Clumping Impasto and Dry Bristle
to paint the flower and the background of the flower. Then I used Glass Distortion,
Image Luminance, Equalize and Posterize to finish the flower image.
For the fish, I used PSE4. I made the bubbles using the EllIptical Marquee tool and the
Dodge Tool. I used a combination of brushes and the paint bucket to add color to
each section of the fish, various blending modes, layer styles and filters on the fish.
Then I copied the flower image I painted and added it as the underwater background.
