I hate viewing an image after Phil because it's hard to add much more. As you know, I love this perspective. The vibrant colors contradict the lonely feeling of the image. Very well done, one of your best. Vote, of course.

It's a game of checkers, bold and brilliant, where Wit, not Beauty, wins.

Very dramatic picture, This is one of your best . This is how photography sings and shouts. Fantastic and you must GMV.

Overwhelming detail - the geometric pattern, the table/chair arrangement, the food, the human, etc... yet you titled it "purple rain", suggesting that your focal point is the umbrella, the one breaking the balance of your picture. Interesting.

Excellent - the floor, the tables and the chairs mix really well, all topped off by the lady eating.

On closer study I see still another scenario for this image, Kal. That plate opposite hers may not be her own. It may belong to a companion, who has just stepped away to refill a drink. The opposite chair, which has been pulled away from the table, stands as context. If we are to accept this scenario, my lonely fantasy below falls apart. The image still draws the eye and holds it, and the abstract overhead vantage point encourages our imaginations to picture the scene from ground level, but the irony is gone and so is the loneliness. Amazing how much difference can be made by just a plate and a chair. Only you can tell us what really is going on here.

Little did this lady imagine that her solitary meal would become an image for the ages. Whimsical, incongruous, and yes, even poignant, it relies on color, repeating shapes, and an abstracting overhead vantage point to express its human values. The table is set for eight, but seven never came. Eating becomes an obligation, instead of a communal pleasure. She is ablaze in color, yet nobody but you seems to care. And because of you, all of us can share this lonely meal with her. Ironically, she can never share it with us.
