I'm back to see this one... Details are wonderful and add to the expressive quality of the image.

This young man looks wiser than his age. He has a question mark in the face. He reminds me of some wise old Asian men we see sometimes on pictures. (Really like the colours too).

Absolute genius. V
Very powerful, the strong colour and contrast bring out the power of the photo, like Phil said the POV is excellent and adds more, it all adds up to genius.

As photographers, we have the power to influence the meaning of our images by the position we take with our cameras. Made from eye level, where most pictures are made, this image would not be as moving. But made from directly overhead, this image makes the viewer feel superior and the subject subordinate. It is a perfect match for the moment -- the expression is intensified by your overhead vantage point. As AL pointed out below, I recently used a similar overhead vantage point on another child to tell quite different story. My subject was soaking wet, bewildered and wary. Your little subject is curious -- very curious. You have that effect on people, Kal. This is a another memorable study in human values.

Very poignant, much like Oliver Twist at the workhouse, asking for more.

A powerful expressive portrait. Reminded me of Phil's shot athttp://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/62020090. The high vantage point and diagonal composition worked perfectly here. The down angle stresses her petite figure and her vulnerability. And I sense uncertainty and perhaps fear, yet mixed curiosity, as seen in her eyes and the cuddling fingers. Because of you, the stranger up there? Last but not least, I love her cosy cheeks and even the hairdo, part of her sweet childlike innocence. Well done, Kal. Voted wholeheartedly.
