You are are doing a fine job at diagnosing your own problems, Kal. This image is a vast improvement over the other two. He is abstracted by turning away from us the leaning pole (and leaning shadow on the ground) create a symbolic world that seems to be tilting away from. He seems disoriented by it, and the inference is that he is spinning out of control. Disorientation is a human value. He seem to be looking for help, but it may never come. He has a few coins in his bowl but he seems to have just about hit bottom. A very poignant image.
Hi Phil. I intially saw this as not abstract enough though plenty of incongruity and Human Values displayed. Interestingly, The more abstract image with the hand in the bowl may have attracted me because the abstract nature of that image. Have I failed to show enough in that image for context/content, and more in this and so this one is more expressive? There have been a few times I have done that. A weakness I have to work on. Let me know if I am on the right track with this image and my explanantion.
