This is an excellent picture of a person at rest, Kal. I guess the incongruity would be the amount of stuff he carries with him (although most of it probably belongs to his wife, who is temporarily out of the frame). You have certainly abstracted him. As for human values, I guess you might call him acquisitive. And that works here.
So yes, it is an expressive image.
