Lightning Causes House Fire in Dacula, Ga.

Well my newspaper days are history, but when I see news in the making...I'm compelled to capture it.
This evening(Aug. 24, 2007) I saw smoke after rain storm. A house only about one mile from here was hit
by lightning and went up in flames. Unfortunately the house was completely destroyed. I'm not sure
if anybody was hurt. I sent three photos to my old newspaper, but who knows if they will run it.

I appreciate you getting this picture though. This is the only picture that i can find that shows justice to how bad this actually was. The pictures of the aftermath are distubing so i wont bother sending a link to them. Everyone that lives there is fine and even though its hard to believe, they are still happy and aren't depressed a bit. I would appreciate it if you would keep this picture on your site for at least a week or two more.

That was my best friends house. His dad was inside asleep and his neighbor 2 houses up broke in and pulled him out of the house.

Very awful. I hope no one was inside.
If your old newspaper does not use it, they have forgotten what good news photos are supposed to look like.
