The fishing vessel 'AMETHYST' (BA.123) was undergoing a repaint when photographed at Mallaig on 5 September 2005. The 14m long wooden stern trawler was built by Macduff Boatbuilding & Engineering Co in 1976 and her first owners were George Ritchie & George W. West of Gardenstown near Banff. At the time of the photograph she was owned by Shoredawn Ltd of Fort William.
