Native Village

A couple of kilometres outside Banaue is this interesting outdoor museum. Here you will find some traditional Ifugao houses, rice gods made from giant ferns, jawbones of sacrificed pigs and even human skulls from the headhunting days, blackened by years of smoke.

At the time I was there the road was being widened to make the place more accessable. The money to widen the road came from Canandians, I was told, who have long supported an orphanage in the town.
