I left Hampi until last in Karnataka state, as it sounded like a bit of a highlight. I felt sick on the journey here (minor food poisoning), and while I was leaning out of the window of the bus, getting some air, the man in his 60s sat next to me touched me up - you can bet I made a big scene. I was surprised on my arrival at how touristy the little village is, but once you have a look around, you can understand why. Spread out across the boulder-strewn land are the remnants of an old capital. Add to this the colourful everyday life, and you have a photographers dream.

As yet I've only scraped the surface, and this is just a fraction of what I've got so far; I can tell this is going to be a big gallery. I'm going to take my time exploring, and enjoying a break from spicy food, so keep checking back to see how things develop.
