It was a glorious day. After too many grey days in a row, the blue skies and sunshine gladdened my heart. A slight mist hung in the air, and the light was just fantastic. I rushed out with my camera, feeling certain that any moment the magic would end, and the clouds return; thankfully, I was wrong.

My father suggested I head to nearby Folkestone. He's keen on boats, and enjoys eating the shellfish that is caught and sold there, so the place is a favourite haunt of his. I took a few photos en route, to add to my Around my Way gallery, and then stopped on The Warren, which overlooks the town itself and boasts a Martello Tower, one of seventy-four such defensive towers built in the early 19th century. Here I snapped a shot for my Photo-a-Day gallery, amongst others.

Afterwards I parked near the harbour, and spent a couple of hours exploring happily, lost in my own world. Four-hundred exposures later, I grudgingly called it a day - I had filled up all my cards - and returned home to sift through the results.
