Walmer Castle Gardens

Walmer Castle dates from 1539 and was built as part of a line of defence forts. Henry VIII ordered castles to be built at Walmer, Deal and Sandown. From 1708 it has been the official residence of the "Lords Wardens of the Cinque Ports".

Unfortunately photography is not allowed inside the castle, but the beautiful gardens make up for that. The site is run by the English Heritage.

Unfortunately they don't allow photography inside :( The gardens make up for it...and I do have some shots of the castle from the outside - it's taking me a while to get them on though.

What's inside the castle ? Seems to be hidden in gardens :-) !
