This page contain a collection of galleries from my trip to Uganda in August 2006. My daughter, Tara was teaching in Kampala, Uganda for a year. In August 2006 Ineke, my wife, and I visited her and the three of us made a tour around southern Uganda. Tara hired a driver, Musa, who supplied a car. We paid him a daily rate and paid for gas. Where accommodation was expensive we also paid for the driver's room and meals. We booked gorilla and chimpanzee trekking permits through the Uganda Wildlife Authority office in Kampala, as well as some accomodation in national parks. Other accommodation was booked by telephone directly to the hotel/lodge. The Eye, a monthly publication in Uganda was an invaluable source of information. Some of the places we booked required that we travel around Kampala by boda boda (taxi service provided by 50 cc motor bike) and matatu (passenger van packed with people). Uganda is a very beautiful country and we enjoyed our visit.
