Murchison Falls National Park is in western Uganda where the Victria Nile that flows from Lake Victoria empties into Lake Albert. We stayed at the Red Chili Pepper Camp which is located just before the hill down to the ferry across the Nile on the south side. While at the camp we made two game drives in the delta area that is across the ferry. The delta seems to be the best game viewing area in the park because it has open grasslands and a good variety of animals. We also visited Murchison Falls where the Nile falls through a narrow gorge. You can hike to the viewpoints at the top of the falls, but have to be accompanied by a guide to make the hike to the base of the falls.
There are actually two falls. The main falls is Murchison Falls. There is a smaller falls that started flowing in the year that Uganda gained independence. This falls is called Uhuru, which mean "freedom".
Beautiful shots- looks liek you all saw nearly every creature in the jungle and one the plains. The illusive big cats hid from you, but that may account for the great number of other animals that were around.
I have never seen a hippo out of water - such tenie legs.
