Second Try

I found out that having selected mirror lockup one can use the 3 sec. timer to fire the shutter.

It was rather cloudy tonight which has not helped.

I realise that the way forward is to get to know my camera and lenses much better.

Canon EOS 20D ,Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM
1/60s f/11.0 at 280.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Thank you for your response to my PAD moon shot. I had a chance to look at your train gallery, very nice, . I was delighted to see see that your moon shot had the same bright spot in the center left. I wasn't sure but what I was missing a pixel or two.

I like this; you might think about changing the white balance by using the digital viewer utility that came with the 20D and selecting a white point on the moon itself. Makes the color less brown...

Great job, nice coloration.

That's great. I always have a tough time taking a picture of the moon - you did a great job!

Nice shot Chris, the lines that look to be going out from a crater close to the bottom of the image make it look like a giant beach ball

You are right. You are using a nice lens I see and you did well with the exposure.
Nicely done Chris
