The rider in the yellow shirt (Josh), and his buddy to the right (Jon), are Kiwis enroute from San Francisco to Bazil, on KLR650s. Dal, in the left-center is a GS rider. I visited his spread outside of Mulege. He is an ex-pat American in Mexico for good. Dave, on the left, was driving to La Paz to gift his Jeep to a deserving fisherman. I'm not aware of a motive other than "he said that he dreamed to drive to the end of the Baja and give away his car". I assume that he had a plane ticket home as it's certainly a long walk. He was from the US East Coast.
