Kal, I specifically put the fingers there to connect the girl from "safely behind the glass" into the more immediate and real world space of the viewer. It's a dissonant note to stir up some edgy feeling and dynamic energy. Without the fingers, I feel this image becomes more mundane and passive. They are supposed to draw your eye from the soft and dreamy body, to the reality of her presence, back to the dreamy body, etc. As voyeurs, viewers can be safe behind glass, reflections, distance and other anonymity. When her fingers come into our personal space, the reality of her presence becomes more threatening. I think I made this conflict for you, so it worked and the image becomes more interactive.
